Jay-Z can officially add successful philanthropy and fundraisers to his list of achievements. The entrepreneur recently had multiple events throughout the weekend to raise money for his charity that he started in 2003. The Shawn Carter Foundation empowers youth, and furthermore helps communities that are in need.
A-listers that attended the event are DJ Khaled, Meek Mill, Tyler Perry, Swizz Beatz, Roc Nation executive Lenny Santiago, among many others. The events ranged from a casino night to a sit-down dinner, and intimate performance by Alicia Keys.

𝐁𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐊 𝐎𝐏𝐔𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 This weekend in Hollywood, Florida a brilliant, formally uneducated minority from Brooklyn partnered with his amazing Mom, Ms Carter. Along with the phenomenal work from Desire, Dania, Yormark, Caitlin, our great team & staff, we hosted a fundraiser for the Shawn Carter Foundation. We raised over 6 million dollars. Incredible to say the least. Giving back is so necessary and important. Do your part if you can for a cause you believe in. We all we got. #ShawnCarterFoundation Only person missing was NIPSEY the great. 🏁

The highlight of all of the festivities was the blackjack game with a steep $100K buy-in. The winner of the night took home $500K, and the rest of the money went to charity.
The proceeds, including the money from the blackjack tournament, went to provide low-income students with opportunities to scholarships. Some of the programs offered are study abroad funds, college workshops, and more.
We hope to see many more charity events from Jay-Z and his successful companies, Roc Nation and The Shawn Carter Foundation.
