Ryan Destiny, the STAR actress who portrays Alex Crane on the popular TV show is set for a recurring role in the upcoming third season of Grown–ish. Destiny joins the cast alongside Yara Shahidi, Trevor Jackson, Luka Sabbat, Chloe X Halle, and many more!
The announcement came through the official Grown-ish instagram handle and production is expected to begin on July 8, 2019.
Based in Atlanta, Ryan will play the role of Jillian, a transfer student from a historically black college, who now attends Cal U to study film making. If you didn’t already know, Freeform’s Grown-ish seeks to address contemporary issues and the lives of the modern-day college student. It follows the lives of Zoey (Yara Shahidi) and her college friends at Cal U as they trudge on in their second year of college.
The series is produced by ABC Signature Studios and created by Kenya Barris – a name familiar from Black-ish, its prequel. Barris, also takes on the role as executive producer alongside Julie Bean, Jenifer Rice-Genzuk Henry, Craig Doyle, Anthony Anderson, Laurence Fishburne, Helen Sugland and E. Brian Dobbins.
Destiny, an American singer and actress, had her first big break in a Detroit-based crime drama, Low Winter Sun. She was most recently a member of the cast for Lee Daniel’s STAR
