Rihanna Makes Fashion History as the First Woman to Launch Her Own Brand Under LVMH

Rihanna is known for being one of the boldest trendsetter in the entertainment industry, from music, to makeup and now fashion.

Late last week, it was announced that the Barbadian singer, businesswoman, and actress partnered with the historic LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton fashion house — becoming the first woman of color to have her own label under LVMH.

Her newest fashion label, FENTY, is named after the 31-year-old pop star’s last name. This addition would be an extension of her cosmetic empire, Fenty Beauty, that was launched in 2017. It is also in partnership with LVMH.

Fenty will be prepared with clothing, shoes and accessories ready to be out this Spring of 2019 joining other labels such as Dior, Givenchy, and Fendi. In a statement from LVMH group, Rihanna said, “Mr. [Bernard] Arnault has given me a unique opportunity to develop a fashion house in the luxury sector, with no artistic limits.”
