Our favorite black girl is moving into the music industry with her new joint venture.
TeaMarr is a Haitian-American singer-songwriter who gained traction last year with her single titled “One Job.” The visual caught the attention of not only over 1.2 million people, but Issa Rae most importantly. As the label’s newest signee, Marr is already off to a great start. The creative just released her first single “Kinda Love,” which is also accompanied by a video. Listen and watch below.
This isn’t the first time that the Emmy-nominated actress-producer-writer has worked in music. Her close connections within the music industry have lead to featuring female, independent, and Los Angeles based artists in “Insecure”. In fact, her passion for music curation started with her iconic youtube series “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl.”
Music has always been an essential part of every project I do and working with emerging talent is a personal passion.
Rae says that “Raedio allows me to continue that work within the music industry and audio entertainment space. The Atlantic Records team are innovators in terms of shifting and shaping culture. I’m excited to join forces with them to discover new artists.”
We are so excited to see what Raedio has to offer and all of the great work they’ll be doing in the music industry.
