There’s no denying what Lil’ Kim has done for women in hip hop, and women in the music industry as a whole. Being a woman in a male dominated industry isn’t easy; she faced many challenges, but still came out on top. Her story has inspired so many women to keep striving, and to build the ultimate confidence.
Lil’ Kim started her career around 1994 and has been killing it ever since. Her 1996 debut studio album ‘Hardcore’ was certified double platinum , and has sold over 6 million copies worldwide. The album did so well that Kim is still reaping the benefits of it. This project was and is a demonstration of impact, longevity and talent. An album that withstood the test of time in the ever changing music industry.
After her debut, she released 3 more albums, ‘The Notorious K.I.M., ‘La Bella Mafia’ and ‘The Naked Truth’. After taking a much needed break, she came back in 2017 and released a single titled ‘Took Us A Break’. Kim intended on dropping an album in 2018 following the single, but it was held back.
Lil’ Kim is releasing her 5th studio album titled “9” on Oct. 11. The lead single ‘Go Awff’ was released this past February, and the album has been highly anticipated every since. Kim recently released another single from the album “Pray For Me” featuring Rick Ross and Musiq Soulchild that touches on police brutality.
‘9’ will be her first album in over 14 years, and the fans are excited about this project. Kim made a statement saying “ I am so proud of this album, and I thank my fans for their continued support,”.
