76ers Hire First Female Coach, Lindsey Harding

76ers General Manager of Elton Brand announced today that Lindsey Harding, was promoted to Player Development Coach. As she transitions from her prior title as pro scout, Harding is expected to monitor and develop the skillsets of each player on and off the court.

If you’re not familiar with Lindsey Harding, get to know her now! She was always a star! Harding attended played point guard at Duke and was later awarded ACC Defensive Player of the Year from 2005 – 2006. In 2007, she was drafted No. 1 in the WNBA and ended up playing for various teams domestic and internationally .

Elton Brand stated:

Lindsey Harding has quickly become a valued member of our organization and she possesses a great basketball mind,” said 76ers General Manager. “Promoting Lindsey to Player Development Coach was a natural fit and our players and staff will greatly benefit from her extensive basketball experience. We look forward to the work she will do on and off the court, in further developing our roster.”
