The time everyone looks forward to is finally here; summer! Now that it’s here, what are your plans? Here are some things that can help you make the most out of the sunshine and the time off you might have from work and school.
Get Creative in the Kitchen
This is an all year round activity, but when it’s hot outside, you probably want something new and refreshing to eat. There are tons of recipes that are available online for you to recreate. You can make fruity popsicles, fruit salads with homemade vinaigrettes, or meal prep so you can have your food ready every day for that week.
Lay Out On the Beach
This is the most typical activity to do, but it’s a classic. Grab a book, prepare some snacks and pack it in a cooler, grab a boom box and your sunscreen (protect that skin please), and relax under the sun.
Go On a Road Trip
If you want to get away for the weekend, take a drive and go somewhere you’ve never been before. You only have one life to live, so plan out a trip and have fun with your friends and family. Exploring new places is fun over the summer since the weather is beautiful and you’ll make more memories.
Going to a local farm and picking strawberries is not only a cute date idea, but it’s also great because you’re supporting your neighborhood farms!
Read Read Read
Sometimes technology can suck the life out of you if you’re on it for too long. Instead of giving your time to the screen, give your eyes a rest and read a good book. You’ll be giving yourself a mental break and it will for sure to relax you, especially if you do this right before bed.
Practice Giving Yourself Proper Self Care
Everyone is so busy going to school, work, and making plans with people, that they forget to properly take care of themselves. This summer, make a plan to eat three solid meals a day and making sure you be selfish and give yourself “you time” to decompress and let your mind go into relax mode.
Learn Something New
It’s always nice to learn something that you’ve never done or known before. Ride a bike, learn how to swim, practice a new language or simply read are just some examples of things to learn.
Plan a Picnic
Going to the park and setting up a cute picnic with your friends or partner is a nice way to spend time with people and get outdoors to enjoy the weather.
Have a Morning Hike
Hiking is a great way to clear the mind and be activity while doing so. If you’re up for waking up early, hike during sunrise to get the ultimate kickstart to your day.
For those trying to avoid the heat and sun, stay inside and make a list of the movies you’ve never seen before, or you simply can watch over and over again, and put them on for yourself or invite friends to watch with.
If you like the good ol’ outdoors, sleeping underneath the stars with your favorite people is something to add to your summer to-do list. There’s full-on traditional camping, but if that’s not your thing, there are camping sites you can stay at.
Go Ice Cream Hunting
If you have a go-to ice cream shop that’s near you, venture out and challenge yourself to try all that’s around until you find the best ice cream shop that suits your fancy.
Go to Concerts
If you find a local park, some put on free concerts for all to enjoy. Sometimes, live music is much better than
Start a Personal Project
Whether you love art, writing, technology, building; urge yourself to start and finish a project. Not only will you feel accomplished, but it’s also something fun and mentally challenging to do that will make you feel good than sitting on your couch all summer.
Do Volunteer Work
Not only are you doing a good deed by picking up trash in your city, helping out at a school or hospital, or gardening and planting more greens, this is a great wa to get outside and meet new people.
